About EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht
Founded in 1971, EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht is one of Germany's oldest and most prestigious private research universities. Headquartered in the Rheingau region and Wiesbaden, EBS operates two renowned faculties: EBS Business School, Germany's pioneering private business school and EBS Law School, Germany's first private university to offer full legal education leading to the First State Examination / Staatsexamen.
EBS is distinguished by its AACSB accreditation—a quality hallmark held by less than 6% of business schools globally—and its membership in elite networks like the Law Schools Global League (LSGL) and EFMD. Owned by the non-profit SRH Higher Education Group, EBS maintains an educational model focused on personal coaching, small-group seminars, mandatory semesters abroad, integrated business-and-law dual modules, and an extensive alumni network spanning global investment banks, top-tier strategy consultancies, and magic-circle law firms.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
EBS Law School was the first private institution in Germany to offer an integrated legal curriculum. In addition to preparing students for the German First State Examination in Law (Staatsexamen), the program automatically awards an LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) and incorporates an integrated Master of Arts (M.A.) in Business from EBS Business School, giving graduates a dual qualification in law and management.
Located in Oestrich-Winkel, Burg Reichartshausen is a historic 12th-century castle complex converted into a modern business university campus. Surrounded by Rheingau vineyards along the Rhine River, the campus houses financial trading suites, lecture halls, and student lounges, creating a distinct residential university atmosphere.
The EBS Education Fund operates on the Umgekehrter Generationenvertrag (UGV) model. Brain Capital pays 100% of your EBS tuition directly to the university during your studies. You pay zero tuition while studying and repay an income-dependent percentage of your salary after graduation for a set number of years, but only once your annual income exceeds a safety threshold.
The EBS Symposium is one of Europe's largest student-organised economic congresses. Held annually on campus for over 30 years, it is planned entirely by EBS students and brings together 1,000+ corporate leaders, politicians, Nobel laureates, and international students for panel debates and recruiting fairs.
Similar to the Symposium, the EBS Law Congress and EBS Real Estate Congress are flagship student-led conferences. They bring senior partners from magic-circle law firms, private equity real estate executives, and corporate developers directly to campus for keynotes and recruitment networking.
Every full-time Bachelor's and Master's student at EBS completes an integrated semester abroad. Because EBS maintains bilateral exchange agreements with over 230 elite partner universities worldwide such as UC Berkeley, Stellenbosch, Peking University, and Indian Institutes of Management, students attend host institutions without paying additional international tuition fees.
EBS is owned by SRH Higher Education, a non-profit foundation and leading provider of private higher education in Germany. SRH's ownership guarantees long-term financial stability, funding for faculty research chairs, modern facility upgrades, and continuous accreditation support.
